Beyond the Titles: Building the Future - WISC & WINE, June 2026
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us for our WISC & WINE event on June 24, 2026.
A special thank you to Lara Murphy for sharing her leadership journey and insights. The conversation reflected the importance of authentic leadership, cross-industry perspective, and the value of open dialogue in advancing our sector.
We also appreciate the engagement from all attendees who contributed to making the evening thoughtful, connected, and impactful.
Events like these continue to reinforce the importance of bringing professionals together to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and build a more connected supply chain community.
Each WISC and WINE event features a guest speaker who shares insights from their industry, including successes, challenges, decisions, lessons learned, and the leadership required to keep moving forward. These conversations also create space to explore how the supply chain is integrated into every aspect of our lives, industries, and communities.
The supply chain is often understood in terms of the movement of goods, materials, and services, but its impact extends much further. It is connected to how organizations operate, how leaders make decisions, how teams are built, how projects are delivered, how communities are supported, and how businesses adapt, succeed, and lead.
Our June 24th guest speaker was Lara Murphy, Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Calgary Wild FC, and Founder and Owner of Ryan Murphy Construction.
Lara brought a powerful perspective on leadership, entrepreneurship, inclusion, sport, construction, and community impact. As the leader of Calgary Wild FC, Alberta’s first professional women’s soccer team, she is helping build a new chapter for women’s professional sport in Canada. As the Founder and Owner of Ryan Murphy Construction, Calgary’s first women-owned construction company, she has continued to create space for inclusion, for diverse suppliers, for mentorship, and for stronger representation in traditionally male-dominated industries.
Through Lara’s experience across professional sport, construction, entrepreneurship, governance, and community building, this conversation will explore the systems behind what gets built, who gets included, and how sustainable success is created.
In construction, the supply chain is visible through planning, procurement, labour, materials, schedules, safety, communication, and delivery. In professional sport, it appears through facilities, partnerships, sponsorships, operations, team development, fan experience, community engagement, and long-term sustainability. In both, success depends on understanding how people, resources, infrastructure, timing, trust, and execution connect.
This WISC and WINE evening invites guests to look beyond the visible outcome and consider the interconnected systems that enable progress. From the field to the jobsite, from suppliers to stakeholders, and from vision to execution, this conversation examined how supply chain thinking shapes leadership, opportunity, and community impact.
